The Pointe at Squaw Peak - June 21, 2014
Lisa and I just spent a wonderful Saturday evening at the Pointe Squaw Peak Resort. We couldn't check in until after 4:00 and had to be out by 12:00. We had really hoped to be able to spend the afternoon enjoying the facilities. Without a multiple day stay, we felt as though we were basically just paying for a bed to sleep in, and not being able to really get a full afternoon of pool and other facilities usage.
We checked in to our mini-suite and watched an HBO movie about a depression era boxer named Jimmy and his struggles to support his family. It co-starred Renee' Zelwigger as Jim's wife. Neither of us got the name of the movie.went to the pool.
The Pointe has multiple pools and a "Lazy River" with plastic inner tubes to float down on. Sunday we spent quite a bit of time on the "lazy River" and in the pools.
After a few hours at the pool, we retreated to our room for a while.
Later went to one of the smaller pools, staked claim to our chairs, and left to look around. When we returned, nobody was in the pool, and we were told the pool was temporarily closed due to somebody loosing thier cookies in the pool.
We went to lunch at "Hole in the Wall" restaurant. Lisa and I both had barbequed brisquet, and were stuffed to the gills when we finished lunch. We had great, attentive service from our server. Lisa struck up conversation with her quickly, as usual, and soon found out she was from Poland.
We checked out and were told we could stay and use the pool for the rest of the day. We stayed a couple more hours, then left and went home.
It was nice to get away together for our little one night staycation. We both just treasured our time together with the one we love.
My wife is my everything to me. I wouldn't trade her for the world.
